Sophie Lovell is a writer, editor and creative consultant. Her international projects range from designing exhibitions & writing books to making magazines and advising a broad range of clients in the fields of architecture, design and publishing. She was editor-in-chief and art director of uncube, the digital magazine for architecture and beyond, from 2013-2016; writes regularly for Wallpaper* magazine and has been their Germany editor since 2000. From 2002-2004 she was also architecture & design editor of the lifestyle magazine Qvest and from 2012-2013 she was executive editor of the German design magazine form.
Sophie Lovell has written and edited a number of books. In the field of design these include: This Gun Is for Hire; from personal to corporate design projects, On Air; the visual messages and global language of MTV and Furnish: Furniture and Interior design for the 21st Century published by Die Gestalten Verlag; Limited Edition: Prototypes, One-Offs and Design Art Furniture published by Birkhäuser and Berlin in Fifty Design Icons published by Conran Octopus. She is also the author of the major monograph Dieter Rams: As Little Design as Possible published by Phaidon Press.
She is a frequent guest and contributor at international jury, symposium and think tank events relating to design, architecture and publishing.
